⚽ Feyenoord – Partizan Predictions

Feyenoord – Partizan Tips and Odds. March 17, 21:00 EUROPA CONFERENCE LEAGUE .

Feyenoord – Partizan Preview

  • Of the quartet of Dutch sides still in the Europa Conference League (UECL), Feyenoord are undoubtedly best-placed to reach the quarter-final after a domineering 5-2 victory in the first-leg of this ‘Round of 16’ tie away to Partizan Belgrade. The omens are good for the hosts, as this season is the 20-year anniversary of the last time that Feyenoord reached a European quarter-final, when winning the UEFA Cup in 2001/02!
  • Following up the reverse win with a 2-1 victory in Eredivisie action over the weekend, Feyenoord remain in the hunt for a top-two domestic finish as well as European glory. The ‘Rotterdammers’ also won a first away leg by a three-goal margin earlier in the campaign during qualifying (vs Luzern), before following it up with an identical win in the reverse (3-0).
  • It’s been a tough week for Partizan as they followed up their demoralising UECL defeat with a goalless draw in league action, a result which cut their lead at the top of the table. Barring an incredible turnaround, this looks like the end of the road for Partizan, who’ve failed to overturn a deficit in five of their six UEFA ties when losing the home leg.
  • The only time that Partizan overturned such a loss was following a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in 2003/04, eventually succeeding on penalties with an identical reverse scoreline. Excluding qualifiers, Partizan haven’t won any European away match by a 3+ goal margin since a 3-0 success over Maltese side Hibernians in 1990, highlighting the mammoth task at hand here.
  • Players to watch: A standout performance from Feyenoord’s Luis Sinisterra in the reverse (G1, A2) saw him claim UEFA’s ‘UECL goal of the week’ award, whilst former Ajax man Queensy Menig assisted to put Partizan ahead in the reverse – six of his eight scoring games this season saw him net the opener.
  • Hot stat: Feyenoord have a 100% win rate in European home games this term (W6), scoring three goals per-match on average.
