Things haven’t gone to plan for manager Robert Moreno at Granada so far, as his side head into the gameweek as one of just three teams yet to secure a La Liga (LL) victory (D3, L4). It’s only the fourth time in club history that they’ve gone winless across their opening seven LL games, and the first since the fateful 2016/17 campaign that ended in relegation.
To avoid a similar fate, it’s imperative that they start getting points on the board. They therefore might look to take confidence from a strong recent record against Sevilla, winning three of the last four H2H home LL matches. Players to watch: Against no other opponent has new Granada striker Carlos Bacca scored more LL goals than Sevilla (five in seven appearances). Whilst coming into the gameweek, Sevilla’s Rafa Mir was averaging a shot every 12 minutes, that’s more than any other player to play 50+ LL minutes.
Hot stat: Moreno could become the first Granada coach ever to fail to win any of his first eight LL games in charge.
