⚽ Hull – Blackburn Predictions

Hull – Blackburn Tips and Odds. December 26, 16:00 ENGLAND: Championship.

Hull – Blackburn Preview

  • Hull City continue to blow hot and cold this Championship season, as their five-game losing streak through October and November was nearly matched with a sixth successive league game without defeat (W4, D2) before they let a lead slip and went down 2-1 to Nottingham Forest last time out. Hull will be without their manager Grant McCann who tested positive for Covid-19, he’ll be spectating from home hoping his side can avoid another catastrophic run as they aim to start 2022 with a more comfortable points cushion above the relegation zone than they have now.
  • The ‘Tigers’ have made the MKM Stadium faithful wait patiently for them to kick into gear this season, with more than a quarter of their home league goals coming after the 75th minute. The visit of Blackburn Rovers may render their patience meaningless here though, as the last five Championship H2Hs have all gone Blackburn’s way and without Hull even getting on the scoresheet!
  • Blackburn’s recent dominance over their hosts mirrors their performances in the league as of late. The visitors have now won five league matches in a row, all with a clean sheet, while going seven undefeated overall (W6, D1), which has taken them to within a point of the automatic promotion spots and has reignited their once dwindling title hopes.
  • On their league travels, Rovers haven’t been nearly as successful compared to their performances on home soil, having won 16 of their 42 points on the road to date (W4, D4, L3). Home or away though, Blackburn are extremely dangerous when they get their noses in front, seeing as they’re one of only three Championship teams yet to lose when scoring first this season (W11, D3).
  • Players to watch: Hull’s George Honeyman has scored four of his last five club goals at home, while Ben Brereton Díaz, who scored in the reverse fixture, has seen 14 of his 19 Blackburn goals this season arrive after half-time.
  • Hot stat: Only one of Blackburn’s last 12 Boxing Day league outings have ended in victory (D6, L5).
