Rep. Ireland failed to make the most of their first home international in front of supporters since November 2019, requiring a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw with #112-ranked Azerbaijan. The pressure on head coach Stephen Kenny continues to grow, with Ireland’s own competitive winless streak extending to 15 (D8, L7 in 90 minutes) – the longest in the nation’s post-war history.

Both of those victories saw them score inside the first 20 minutes.
Players to watch: Ireland number nine Adam Idah is still awaiting his first senior international goal, but his last four club goals have all arrived after HT. Serbia’s own number nine, Aleksandar Mitrović, is in amazing form having netted six goals in his last five appearances for club & country.
