⚽ Morocco – Burkina Faso Predictions

Morocco – Burkina Faso Tips and Odds. June 12, 20:00 Friendly International.

Morocco – Burkina Faso Preview

  • Rabat plays host to Morocco’s final friendly ahead of World Cup Qualifiers in September, and this one is a repeat of manager Vahid Halilhodžić’s first game in charge (1-1, September 2019). Impressively, Halilhodžić has lost just once at the helm so far (W13, D7, L1) whilst also dominating personal H2Hs vs Burkina Faso (W4, D2, L1).
  • There’s no doubting the talent of this Morocco squad with ten of their starting XI in their last fixture plying their trade in Europe. This is one of the main reasons why they’ve been difficult to overcome, and this has especially been the case on home soil where they’re unbeaten in seven home games (W5, D2). Interestingly, they led at HT in four of those five victories.
  • Burkina Faso’s form can be viewed in different lights, on one hand they’ve failed to score in four of their last seven games (W2, D3, L2) though encouragingly, they also kept three clean sheets across their previous four encounters – they’ve not achieved such a feat since November 2019. The ‘Stallions’ may have to rein in enthusiasm though given that they’ve beaten Morocco just once previously (W1, D2, L6).
  • Maybe benefitting from a lack of competitive pressure, Burkina Faso are unbeaten in five of their last seven friendlies played on foreign soil (W3, D2, L2). Notably, five of those seven games were level at HT (four goalless) making for an average of 1.29 second-half goals per game in comparison to just 0.57 on average before HT.
  • Players to watch: Youssef En-Nesyri makes up one of a three-player Sevilla contingent for Morocco – he scored a career-high 18 league goals this season (ten match openers). Meanwhile, Burkina Faso’s Lassina Traore bagged his third international goal in his ninth appearance last time out, and he’s scored seven Eredivisie goals for Ajax this term.
  • Hot stat: Morocco have not conceded a goal in 460 minutes. A clean sheet here will secure their longest such run this century (533’ in 2014).
