β½ Peterborough – Millwall Predictions
Peterborough – Millwall Tips and Odds. December 11, 16:00 ENGLAND: Championship.
Peterborough – Millwall Preview
- Peterborough have made some unwanted history with their 2-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest last round, failing to score in five consecutive league games for the first time since their 2002/03 Second Division season. They finished in the middle of the table that season, in spite of six consecutive defeats in the first half of the campaign – an encouraging reminder that there are plenty of chances for them to lift themselves out of the Championship drop zone.
- Every return to their home of London Road Stadium is an increasingly crucial opportunity to improve upon a home Championship record of W2, D3, L3 against the 21 clubs above them in the standings at the start of the round. With no more than one goal conceded in each of their last four Championship home games against all opposition (W1, D2, L1), their defending has certainly been doing its best work in Peterborough.
- Millwall snapped a four-game winless streak (D3, L1) with victory over Birmingham last round, a win which kept them in the hunt for a playoff place. That 3-1 win over the Brummies marked the first time in seven games they managed to score more than once, and with just 23 league goals scored this season, thatβs an issue theyβll need to address.
- Set to start a Championship away game as favourites for just the second time this season, Millwall have managed just two away victories so far, although one of those was also against relegation candidates Barnsley (when favourites). Issues seem to stem from some poor second-half performances, as all but one of their ten Championship away fixtures this season (W2, D5, L3) saw them on level terms at half-time.
- Players to watch: Peterborough have taken points from every occasion in which Harrison Burrows has recorded their first or only Championship goal at home this season (W2, D1), as have Millwall in each of the five games in which Jed Wallace has scored their first goal (W3, D2).
- Hot stat: All but one of Millwallβs nine Championship draws this season have been accompanied by a 1-1 scoreline.
