⚽ QPR – Birmingham Predictions

QPR – Birmingham Tips and Odds. September 28, 19:45 ENGLAND: Championship – Round 10.

QPR – Birmingham Preview

  • A late turnaround from West Brom on Friday condemned Queens Park Rangers to a 2-1 defeat and extended the London side’s run without tasting victory to four Championship matches (D3, L1). In fact, the hosts have now lost their last three league matches 2-1, although they haven’t lost four Championship matches in a row since February 2019.
  • After netting in all nine of their Championship fixtures this season, QPR are the league’s second top scorers behind promotion favourites Fulham, meaning it’s their leaky defence which is the root cause of their average start to the campaign (W3, D3, L3). Conceding 2.25 goals on average over their last four league outings, Mark Warbuton’s side need to improve at the back urgently if they’re to realise their playoff ambitions this season.
  • Visiting Birmingham City slumped to a drab 0-0 stalemate at home to Preston at the weekend, giving them the same record after nine Championship matches as their hosts here (W3, D3, L3). Under the tutelage of manager Lee Bowyer, the visitors have become a far stronger outfit than in recent seasons and the hope this time around will be for a sneaky playoff push after an 18th-placed finish last campaign.
  • There’s reason for optimism in this match, as Birmingham haven’t lost on their previous three trips to this venue (W1, D2), whilst they’ve now kept nine clean sheets in their last 19 Championship games. Their strong showing on the road so far this season (W2, D1, L1) will further inspire more confidence despite a 3-0 loss to Peterborough in their last away outing.
  • Players to watch: QPR’s on-loan striker Andre Gray now has two goals in four Championship appearances this season after bagging last time out. Meanwhile, Birmingham top scorer Scott Hogan has netted twice in three away league matches this campaign.
  • Hot stat: QPR’s Championship matches are currently averaging the most total corners in the division (11.44 per match).
