⚽ Salernitana – Juventus Predictions
Salernitana – Juventus Tips and Odds. November 30, 20:45 ITALY: Serie A.
Salernitana – Juventus Preview
- Salernitana salvaged a point against fellow Serie A (SA) strugglers Cagliari on Friday night (1-1) as an injury-time equaliser kept them in touch with safety. They’re still winless in four league matches though (D1, L3) and yet to score inside the opening 30 minutes this SA season, so they might need more late goals if they’re to claw themselves out of the drop zone.
- The bottom side has netted just once before half-time at home this SA campaign so getting a foothold in matches at Stadio Arechi has proved problematic. They’ve not played Juventus since May 1999, but do at least have happy memories of their last meeting as they prevailed 1-0 here via a solitary first-half strike!
- A bad week for Juventus started with a 4-0 Champions League hammering by Chelsea, continued with their offices being searched by the financial police investigating suspected illegal transfer activity, and then got even worse by losing 1-0 to Atalanta on Saturday. They’d won their two prior league matches ‘to nil’ by completing the scoring after the 80th minute, but will now start the round seven points behind the fourth-placed side.
- With that mini-resurgence halted, their season arguably has more in common with the dark days of the mid-2000s when they were embroiled in the ‘Calciopoli’ match-fixing scandal – and subsequently relegated – than their all-conquering run of nine straight SA titles between 2011/12 and 2019/20!
- Despite a mixed SA away record this term (W3, D2, L2), the ‘Bianconeri’ have scored in each of those matches, netting the opener five times (71%). That should instil confidence that they’ve enough to overpower their hosts, as should their record of not losing their last five SA away matches against the side placed 20th at the time (W4, D1).
- Players to watch: Federico Bonazzoli rescued Salernitana against Cagliari, and all three of his league strikes this term came after the 50th minute. Leonardo Bonucci netted twice in Juventus’ last SA away match and they’ve never lost a competitive fixture in which he’s scored (W29, D3).
- Hot stat: Juventus haven’t struck between the 30th and 60th minute in SA away action this term.
